Cat City

Originally this canvas was going to be Mistress Catarina, which I started working on in 2008. During the time I was working on it a careless driver killed my father. I was just too upset to continue working on it so the painting was left unfinished until 2010. My dad was so anxious to see the finished painting; he always loved my cat paintings. So early in 2010 I tried to complete it as Mistress Catarina and I just couldn’t it was too painful for me so I covered it with black paint and waited until the right scene came to me.

So a few months later along comes Cat City! This is where all the naughty cats come to play and live the fast life and of course the nightlife here is most adventurous especially during the night of the full moon. It is an old city filled with old building and trees just purrrrfect for cats to explore.

I will create Mistress Catarina some time soon….

Sebastian

I love painting my black cats in various settings. So here is Sebastian the cat sitting back and relax in his wingback chair while enjoying a dish of the food that a cat can enjoy! Sebastian finds the full moon most relaxing…and so do I!

Haunted

This is actually a very haunted house that Sebastian the cat lives in which sits on a hill at the edge of Cat City. If you are brave enough to walk up to the window and look in you might see him sitting in his wingback chair enjoying the night and the full moon. That is if he isn’t carousing about Cat City, it is a full moon after all.

David created the faux wrought iron fence on the front of the painting, which gives it a lot of depth but sadly it doesn’t show up in the photo that well. Haunted was sold in 2009. I am always happy when my work sells but I am also a little sad to see them go.

Felix The Wizard

Felix the cat was a lot of fun to create. David added the metal work accent around the edge giving it a whimsical feel. Felix sold in 2009 It was sad to see him go but I know that he has found a good hom!

Lil Tut

If reincarnation is real then surely I was Egyptian in a past life. I have always had a deep fascination for their rich culture, beautiful art and architectural skills.

Many years ago I dressed up as Cleopatra for Halloween. I had a great deal of fun and the costume I wore won first prize.

This acrylic painting was created by dabbing dots of paint on the canvas with an embossing tool and it took me thirty-four hours to complete. Not shown in the photo, the painting is hung with gold colored rope and tassels to create the look of tapestry. The entire piece was painted with metallic paints giving it a very rich look. I was very happy with the effect but unfortunately it doesn't show up that well on the website.

Cat Mask

Here is a painting of a cat mask that I did some time ago. I collect masks so I enjoy creating them on canvas or paper. It is fun to put on a mask and just be someone else for the evening!
