Welcome To Creston Valley

Here are some digital photographs that my husband David and I took of some of our favorite areas in the Creston valley.

Creston Valley

This is one of my favorite views of Creston valley. Looking down from our vantage point the various farms and orchards of Erickson (part of Creston) looks like a beautiful patchwork quilt. In this photo you are looking south towards the Idaho boarder that is about 10 kilometers from Creston.

Canyon Bridge

This is the Canyon Bridge that spans high above the Goat River. This beautiful area is a must see that provides both locals and tourists with a spectacular photo opportunity! For four years my husband David and I rented a home only 1000 meters from this incredible view. We now own a home in Creston and I love it but I do miss the smell of the cedar trees and listening to the raging river at night. There are hiking trails that lead you down to the river. It is awesome to sit beside the river and take in the incredible view! In the summer when the river isn’t moving as fast there are a few areas where locals like to go swimming!

Creston Valley

To me this photo is what represents Creston. A beautiful orchard with the Skimmerhorn Mountain behind it! I remember as a child being awe struck every time we would drive through the valley while on holidays. Today I am still awe struck. When we come into the valley and I see this view it always makes me feel good because I know that I am home!

Creston Valley

This is one of the many orchards that are in the Canyon/Lister area, which is a rural farming area located about 8 kilometers from the town of Creston. I think that I will have to get another website just for all our photos of Creston and the area. It seems that every time David and I come home from a weekend drive the memory stick on our digital camera is filled up and you can see why! People spend hundreds of dollars and drive for many hours just to come and holiday here. I feel so blessed that we can call this place our home.

Creston Valley

Here is another scenic picture taken in the beautiful Canyon/Lister area in May 2005. The Lilacs are very beautiful although my allergies wouldn’t agree as I sneeze and sniffle and wipe the tears from my eyes. I guess I will have to enjoy these flowers from a distance!

Creston Valley

We are still in the Canyon/Lister area looking North/West almost in the direction of Creston. This picture was taken in the area that David and I call ‘frost corner’. This part of the road is in the shade of trees for most of the day so you have to take a bit of care going around this corner in the winter because it is usually a bit icy! That’s no problem, who wants to hurry when you have a view like this anyway?
